October 2018

A word from Richard

Hello everyone.

October here we come and yes it is warming up and the days are getting noticeably longer. Yippee.

The most exciting thing I’ve done recently was taking my 16 year old daughter, Leah away. just the two of us, for a Father and daughter experiences long weekend as a Birthday present instead of a monetary present. She drove all the way on L plates. I never got nervous. We stayed at my Mum’s in Busselton.

I took her squidding along the Jetty with just a bucket, hand reel and squid jig. I never came home without a good catch as a kid growing up in Busselton, and it took us all the way to the end before she caught a squid. FEEEEEEW. Super happy Dad moment.

We did the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, The Nougat Factory and The Cowaramup Sweet shop to satisfy her sweet tooth. We rode push bikes around the whole town and back to Mum’s like I did as a kid. As long as were home before dark all was fine. We watched the Footy Preliminary Final together. It was another exciting game.

On our last day I booked us into a horse riding day through the Margaret River Forrest. I had been getting secret riding lessons in the lead up to surprise her that I could ride. I got them to give Leah the best horse they had as she’s such a good rider in show jumping and everything. So we broke away from the beginners group towards the end so we could do some trotting and cantering. Cantering was only just very new to me. We got up to a nice canter and as the stables were in sight ahead Leah came galloping past me smiling away as if I was standing still. I was so happy and so proud of her. They gave me a glass of local red wine and water for Leah and some nice nibblies to finish. We had the best time together EVER, I think.

Then we just had an amazing West Coast Eagles and Collingwood Grand Final weekend and we all about that so here’s wishing you all an amazing October.

Don’t forget; "You either use a water filter or your body is one." Cheers Cheers.
