A word from Richard

Hello everyone.

Here we go here we go Spring has arrived and Summer won’t be too far behind. The days will start warming up and the sun will out for longer making exercising easier to enjoy.

Speaking of exercise, I’m currently doing the 22 Push up Challenge to help raise awareness for things such as PTSD, anxiety and depression that drive veterans to commit suicide. Some very brave people have put their lives on the line to protect our freedoms only to get back and feel lost. So if you’re nominated to take on the challenge, dig deep and go for it. You’ll feel good for it.

I hope every Father had as wonderful a day as I did on Father’s Day just gone. I got spoilt rotten and loved it. Even scored tickets to the Eagles semi-final this Thursday night Oh Yeh Go you Eagles. Actually I think I enjoyed the festivities way too much on Sunday as I was a tad slow at the gym Monday morning but at least I got the session done with some great exercises that my body was grateful for.

How’s business going for you out there? Lucky we have a large data base as our team are busy with ongoing service and maintenance work but for me on Sales and Marketing it is a bit slow but that’s ok. I think it is still just a sign of the economy as everyone seems to be similar. We’re seeing businesses close down, downsize and consolidating each week so I really do hope the economy picks up out for everyone.

So please enjoy another good quick look at our Newsletter and we’ll be back in touch next month. The Librans month. Keep hydrated and remember “You either use a water filter or your body is one!” Cheers Cheers.

Water wars

This precious resource leads to most wars and armed conflicts and things are only getting worse. WE ALL think we know why wars are fought.

Whether it’s the devastation in Syria, armed skirmishes in Africa or Russia’s expansionist leanings, armed conflicts are usually seen as falling into one of very few categories; capturing territory, a political ideology attempting to dominate another or, simply, for a country to get its hands on oilfields.

But, according to one theory, whatever the stated reason for most wars, they actually come down to one reason. Or rather, one resource, which is all around us.

And with stores of this resource dwindling in some parts of the world, things could be about to get a lot worse with a potential future flashpoint being between two of the world’s nuclear armed superpowers — India and China.

Alok Jha, a British journalist with a background in physics, will speak at this weekend’s Festival of Dangerous Ideas at the Sydney Opera House about the role water has played in a multitude of conflicts including both the Arab Spring and the civil war that has engulfed Syria.

“The Roman empire and the Persian empire would go to war for access to water and would live or die by that,” Mr Jha tells news.com.au. “That doesn’t happen as blatantly anymore, it’s much more subtle.”

Part of the problem, he argues in his new book The Water Book, is we’ve managed to hide water from view and have forgotten its importance.

Water facts

Water is one of the six basic nutrients.

It is widely seen as the most important because the body requires it constantly and all the important chemical reactions – such as the production of energy – take place in water.

Health Tip

Healthy skin

Drinking water can clear up your skin and people often report a healthy glow after drinking water. It won't happen overnight, of course but just a week of drinking a healthy amount of water can have good effects on your skin.
